Geotechnical Engineer – Earth Retention Systems & Deep Foundations

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and detail earth retention systems (e.g., Berlin walls, soil nails, sheet piles) based on site-specific geotechnical data.
• Design deep foundation systems including piles, caissons, and shafts for various load and soil conditions.
• Interpret subsurface investigation results (borehole logs, CPT, lab tests) and conduct geotechnical reports.
• Produce technical drawings, calculations, and documentation compliant with international codes and standards.
• Liaise closely with structural engineers, project managers, contractors, and field teams to ensure constructability and quality.
• Conduct slope stability and excavation risk assessments.
• Supervise on-site geotechnical investigations and support construction review processes (e.g., shop drawings, field changes).
• Stay current with software tools like PLAXIS, LPILE, GEO5, Slope/W and leverage them for efficient, reliable design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical design and construction supervision.
• Solid expertise in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geostructural modeling.
• Strong proficiency with relevant geotechnical software and AutoCAD-based drafting.
• Effective communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
• P.E. (Professional Engineer) or equivalent certification is a strong asset (not mandatory but preferred).
• English proficiency (verbal and written) is required to collaborate with international stakeholders.
